Main objective:
Development of a comprehensive feasibility study for the integration of solar and wind energy into ELCEN's district heating system, increasing the sustainability and efficiency of heating solutions through innovative heat storage technologies.
Secondary objectives:
It addresses the need for sustainable heating solutions in urban areas, reducing dependence on fossil fuels. To this end, a feasibility study was developed to assess the technical and economic aspects of integrating solar and wind energy into ELCEN's district heating system. This study includes a cost-benefit analysis, technical assessments and a detailed report with recommendations. This study provides detailed technical and economic analysis, providing a solid basis for future investments and demonstrating the viability and benefits of integrating solar and wind energy into the district heating systems.
Project benefits:
- Supporting the green transition - The project contributes directly to the green transition by integrating solar and wind energy into district heating systems. This initiative reduces dependence on fossil fuels and increases the use of renewable energy sources.
- Scalable model - The Feasibility Study provides concrete solutions for the integration of renewables in district heating, serving as an example for other cities and regions interested in implementing sustainable solutions.
- Increase energy efficiency - The project develops and promotes advanced heat storage solutions, optimizing the performance of district heating systems and reducing energy losses.
- International cooperation and exchange of experience - The partnership between Romania and Norway facilitates the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of renewable energy, strengthening bilateral relations and promoting innovation in the energy sector.
- Professional skills development - Project partners benefit from training sessions and exchange of experience, strengthening expertise in the integration of renewable energy sources and the use of advanced energy storage technologies.
- Future opportunities for partners - Audit ITC and its partners gain valuable experience in carrying out large-scale feasibility studies and implementing renewable energy solutions, facilitating access to new projects and international collaborations.
